Quarry Park One Day Wonder PDGA C - Tier event

No ImageOn the 18th July 2010 Quarry Park Golf course will be hosting the inaugural One Day Wonder.

This is a PDGA C  - Tier rated tournament incorporating Open, Advanced and Intermediate Amateur divisions.  You do not need to be a PDGA member to play however membership will give you use of the PDGA ratings system which is a great way of tracking your development similar to the handicap system in golf.  You can join the PDGA for free by becoming a member of the BDGA (the British Disc Golf Association - £24 yearly membership, gives a £5 reduction to all British Tour events)

Bristol Open 2010

The Bristol Open was held this year over the weekend of the 21st/22nd May.

It was played over a challenging 12 hole temporary course lovingly prepared by the Bristol crew through the woods and over the hills of the south end of Ashton Court Estate.

The event drew an almost capacity field and the competitors were greeted by two days of stunning weather.

Burnlaw victory belongs to Bruce Webber

After a weekend of weather described by many as "good practice for Mull", the windswept results of Burnlaw are:
Open
1 Bruce Webber
2 Ivan Bromage
3 Chris O'Brien
4 Conor Davies
5 Woody Harding

Of note is that all the top players were the touring stalwarts - none of the young crop of players managed to cope well enough in the wind to reach the final.

Full results are already up on the PDGA website .

Thanks to all at Burnlaw for another great event. See you there again in September!

British No. 1 wins again!

del_wins_chilly_chuck.jpg Derek Robins wins the second event of the 2010 British Tour, The Chilly Chuck.

The event was held this weekend at Derek’s beautiful course Quarry Park in the heart of England.  With heavy snows falling on Thursday the hardy campers at the course had to pitch tents and sleep in minus temperatures.  With another snow fall on Saturday night nature seemed determined to prove the chosen name Chilly Chuck correct!

Not to be deterred the show went on as normal with entrants split evenly across the three divisions.
